Here are a few points to remember when installing the IEP on the ALM 11.5 Server:
- Right click the installation file and run as an Admin during the installation.
- During the installation wizard if you are prompted that certain processes are running be sure to kill them before proceeding by following the steps below.
- Open Windows Task Manager
- Click the processes tab
- Click the view menu --> then select columns
- Choose to display the PID (Process ID)
- Arrange the processes in Task Manager by PID
- End all processes that the IEP installation wizard prompted for
- Exit the installation and re-run as admin to ensure that none of the processes the installation wizard previously prompted for are running
The main reason for the caution while installing the ALM patch and Integration Enablement Pack is that they can not be uninstalled. To remove them you have to completely uninstall HP ALM 11.5 and the re-install.

Hi Louis ,
ReplyDeleteWe have installed the enablement pack on the server , do we need to install some patch too on the ALM server side .
When we try to connect our UFT 11.5 to ALm it is throwing a message : need enablement pack to be installed .
First you may need to re-install HP ALM client side components.
ReplyDeleteTo be sure that you have the integration enablement pack installed verify that HP ALM 11.50 is now HP ALM 11.51 and the "Add ins" menu is now "Tools".
You should patch the ALM server to Patch level 01 and also install the integration enablement pack.
ReplyDeleteOnce you have completed these steps re-install the client side components for HP ALM and then you should notice that the "add-ins" menu is now the "Tools" menu and also HP ALM 11.50 will now show as version HP ALM 11.51.
It is always a good idea to keep all of your BTO tools on the same patch level so I suggest patching your UFT 11.50 as well.
Hope this helps!
Here is a direct reply. Please let me know if this helps.
